Investigation and temporary repair of blown brick work above a communal area on a residential block.

Working with the buildings residential porter a visual inspection was conducted of an area of blown brick work, underneath a chimney stack and above a communal area,  that was causing some concern.

On a closer look, the descision was reached that the brickwork presented a danger, and needed to be made safe.

Utilising abseiling our personnel safely reached the area and removed all lose brickwork, revealing the source of the problem, a structural steel beam that had started to corrode and subsequently push the bricks forward.
